Panchachuli Trek, Uttarakhand – An experience to remember!

Dhauli Ganga will welcome you in this trek. In order to start your trek you have to enter through Darma Valley and Sobla. Once you enter Sobla you need to put on your rucksack and start the journey. Approximately 60 km trek you need to do before you reach to Panchachuli Glacier in which you will be experiencing small villages to name with some will be Bungling, Sela, Dantu and so on.

At the end of the Dantu Village ends you will be able to see the amicable view of five peaks which is famously known as Pandavas. Base of the Panchachuli starts from Yuli River and five pick of Panchachuli create the specter of Him Khand.

How to Reach

By Train
Kathgodam is the main station in the Uttarakhand district. You can connect to directly this station from Lucknow, Delhi and Howrah. Delhi to Kathgodam tickets costs start from 150 INR approx.  You need to book your ticket in prior because it’s always in demand. It takes 7 hrs approximately to reach.
Or else you can reach to Delhi via Train/Flight and from New Delhi station you can reach to Kathgodam by taking Janshatabdi Express. Approx it takes 8 hrs to reach to Kathgodam.
By Bus
You can get regular buses from ISBT Delhi Anand Bihar Station to Kathgodam.


Trek Itinerary

Trek duration lies between 8-10 days. It depends upon the weather, strength of the group, Health of the member etc.
Day 1: Kathgodam to Dharchula (Approx 9 hrs to reach) 290 KM
                Overnight stay at Guest House
Day 2: Dharchula to Dar to Urthing
                Stay overnight at Guest House or you put the setup of a tent
Day 3: Urthing to Naagling
                From this point tent will be mandatory for you because no guest houses are here in between the entire trek route
Day 4: Naaling to Son
                Night stay at tent
Day 5: Son to Panchachuli Base Camp (4200 mts)

Returning Path
Day 6: Panchachuli Base Camp to Naagling
                Night stay in tent
Day 7: Naagling to Urthing (Approx 12 km to trek)
                Night stay in Guest House
Day 8: From Urthing to Dar Drive and back to Dharchula
                Night stay in Guest House
Day 9: Dharchula to Kathgodam via Almora (it takes approx 8 to 9 hrs to reach by car)

Delhi – Kathgodam – Almora – Dharchula – Panchachuli – Dharchula – Kathgodam – Delhi
